Mental Health is a condition in regards to a person's psychological and emotional well-being. It affects that person’s ability to make decisions, handle stress, and deal with emotions. A person’s mental health can change over time, as mental health can be affected by outside factors. For example, working long hours, caring for sick relatives, or moving to a new city or state. Mental illness can affect adults and youths.
Suffering from poor mental health can lead to chronic physical conditions like strokes or cancer. That's why it is so important to take care of your mental health! When you're physically
sick or have a broken bone, you go to the doctors. The same is for your mental well-being.
Mental illness can be curable, so don't be afraid to ask for help! Self-care is one way to help your mental health. It's okay to be selfish, to take time for yourself, to shut out the world for a little bit. Talking to a friend or family member and getting enough sleep can help improve your mood and overall health.
